In the occasion of (May Day) , AWNA publishes the International Confederation Of Arab Trade Unions statement ICATU

 

ICATU  continues with its national principles and goals ,and defends Arab Worker rights.


ICATU   emphasizes Arab Workers  demands facing poverty, unemployment, corruption, expanding the political reforms ,maintaining the unity and finally avoiding  conflicts.

ICATU  refuses any attempt of violation of  associations freedom and the use of force towards its manifestations.

ICATU  recalls for the need to respect  Trade unions rights in practicing democracy  in institutions and trade union bodies and in enhancing independence in Arab trade Union movement referring to the panic is a result of  conflicts among  Arab trade union movement

Dealing with Israeli Histadrut  and some of external organizations is forbidden   because they support directly and indirectly the most of random trade unions in our Arab World

Re respects all the trade unions especially the Arab and The international labor organization

Recalls on all decision workers to support the Palestinian nation and its case

 

AWNA: In The occasion of the international Worker Day on may 1st 2013, the ICATU congratulates as all members  Arab Trade Unions  all Arab workers in all  fields of production thanking their efforts in our  nation reforms and their achievements in developments  ,and continuing with its national principles and goals defending the Arab worker rights as fair salaries, balanced work relations real laws which can ensure the both of  employer and employee rights .

ICATU  recalls on Arab governments in which revolutions have taken place  to  apply  their nations demands to reach freedom and social justice announcing that it is on its way facing Zionist and colonial goals that try to fragment strongly Arab trade union movement

ICATU  was founded in May 24th 1956 and it remembers the role of Arab worker during the Three aggression against Egypt , prevent the oil supplies from the aggressor countries in addition to its famous situation when the Egyptian ship ,Cleopatra was

ICATU  renews its situation supporting  the Arab public movements which were one of its demands because what Arabs live especially the Arab trade unions and associations which face difficult economic crisis ,unemployment poverty ,marginalization ,and shortage of job opportunities, refuses against any oppression attempts against workers  recalling for the need to respect  the right of manifestation

ICATU  completely supports public movements, social demands, political .transformation and the modern civil state, foundation without marginalization, standing against any foreign project

 Whatever it is including any attempt of application of democratic example which it is good to a country and a bad to another confirming that Arab Societies have their culture and history which can lead them to developments

ICATU sees that what is happening  in Arab World is a power struggle between Islamic movements and opposition political parties  and it seems that some of this movements wants to apply their project thinking that it is the best for The Arab nations  , while  the other parties think that it is as marginalization for them.

As a result it calls for a national dialogue in each Arabian country apart from distrust and violence language and condemns all ways of terrorism and wishes that this dialogue will be directed peacefully to contribute in the foundation of the modern state

It calls on an Arab Consensus and political will to get use of Arab Human Resources and to plan for economic policies supporting Arabian Unity and calls on Arabian governments to apply the summit goals in Kuwait, Sharm Shiek, Reyad.

Expresses concern about rise in employment in Arabian countries  that reached 20.25%  compared to 6% internationally and it is expected that Arabian unemployed will be 25 million people which requires  unified Arab vision to solve concretely this crisis to create 5 million opportunities annually

Finally ICATU  thinks that the central council success in February 27-28 th and the rise of its activities  during the last period  as workshops  concerning employment and unemployment and the participation  in Arab League in e which ICATU Become a member  and AWNA releasing  which has successed widely in a short time  and the results of women workshop union in Beirut Which was an evidence  of The unions attitudes towards current cases.

Because of our Arab nations is the nation of morals ,their workers and leaders are responsible with each other and the others and their relations are distinguished for mutual respect, in addition they refuses any external interference and defend their organization from fragments seeking to the unity of their trade Union Organization.
